When I was younger, I was told I should try to fit in more. Don’t act like a girl. Don’t dress in pink or purple. Don’t use lotion on your face. Seriously, she told me not to moisturize my face. She doesn’t rule my life anymore. I don’t care what she thinks–I never really did. It’s just I am free now.
Free to dress the way I want, to cover myself in pink if I want. Pink has always been my favorite color (along with black). When I’m happy, it was my color of choice. Bright and free. It’s me! It’s Arti!
